So after an evening of high frustration trying to get a picture of the birdies from my new iPad to this blog, I have finally given up. Instead, below is a short written update with the promise of a picture to follow.
The fourth egg hatched on Sunday and poor Mrs. Robin must be exhausted as she spends all day stuffing worms or caterpillars into their little mouths, which seem to be perpetually open. When they’re not eating, they are squirming around but it’s amazing to see how quickly they are growing and now we can actually tell where their heads are in comparison to the rest of their bodies. They are growing beaks and the feathers are starting to form. I am a little concerned that all will not live to tell the tale as the nest does not look large enough to accommodate four bigger babies unless Mum builds an addition!
I tried to take a picture with the regular camera and the flash went off, so now I have probably blinded them or given them brain damage. Here I am trying to save them from the cat and their greatest danger is yours truly. So, I will read the instructions for the camera before trying again tomorrow evening and with a bit of luck, will be able to drive my technology and a picture will appear soon.
