So today I went for my second opinion and although nothing new transpired, Dr Dixie Mills is just the most wonderful human being. She has the calmest, gentlest, kindest manner of any Dr I have ever met and each time I have seen her, I leave feeling hopeful and cared for. She did illuminate me a little more on the difference between lobular and ductal breast cancer. Lobular grows more slowly and tends to be less aggressive but normally is found at a much later stage due to its characteristic of not being seen on a mammogram as it grows in lines, not clumps. It is also difficult to find doing a self exam. However, as I was at my 6 month check up with my medical oncologist when the issue arose, her level of expertise helped me out enormously.
So next step is the MRI on Saturday and as I mentioned yesterday, not looking forward to the results of that (unless the news is status quo to what we already know) and then the plastic surgeon the middle of next week. Perhaps I could ask for a face lift at the same time!
And at least it seems like it might stop raining at last!
So glad that your meeting with Dr. Dixie went well and that you felt supported and more fully informed. I hope you have a nice weekend and may be able to get out and enjoy some spring weather at last!
Love,
Lina
A doctor you feel comfortable with is so important, so I’m glad you have Dr. Dixie. I hope you are finding some time to keep yourself grounded — meditation, therapy and/or walking outside are always good! Will be thinking of you tomorrow.
Thanks to Fr. Dixie for helping you feel hopeful.
I have a feeling this is all going to be OK, Amanda. It might a bumpy ride for a while, but you will be all right, my gut feeling.
Again, anything you need, holler… anything.

That’s great, Mandy! Lack of information is your worst enemy, as our minds tend to go to the worst places when we don’t have enough. Dr. Dixie gave you information, which helped ease your mind a bit. The MRI will, as well.
I agree with Laurie, it may not be a fun ride, but I think it’s going to all work out in the end.
Mike and I are here if you need anything!
you, beautiful woman, do NOT need a face lift! (smiling) XX
