So no word of a lie, but 10 minutes after my last post, I was checking my iPhone for some music to listen to when I remembered that only last night I downloaded Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd – very apropos given my post.
I am throwing down the gauntlet for you to name a better song to air guitar to – when Free Bird hits at around 4 minutes, the head and arms just have no choice but for the flailing to begin. I think I could give Tom Cruise in Risky Business a run for his money but perhaps in my sweats and slippers might not look quite so appealing!
So bring on the challenge – Angels of the Silences by the Counting Crows comes a close second in my book and then maybe The Boys are Back in Town by Thin Lizzy, although something by Slash/GNR has to be in there, right? Give me some good ones – leaping around like a mad woman helps shift the anxiety.
“What song is it you want to hear? Freebird!” When I was in college every party ended with a playing of Freebird and everyone would be up and jamming out to the guitar riffs. Music can raise ones soul and emit positive vibes — rock on!
you and I are showing our age, huh! thanks for being so supportive with all your great notes and comments – really appreciate it.
Ok – so off the top of my head I can’t help with the air guitar. But, I have to say when I was stuck in the hospital in “solitary” one weekend, my friend Terri brought me a “cd walk man” (this was pre-MP3 players) with a bunch of CD’s and the one that I couldn’t stop playing and dancing to was Dwight Yoakum’s Pocket of a clown. (I think its the doo wah’s!). Not quite Lynyrd Skynyrd but hey, it made me happy on a real dull weekend! Here’s the link on youtube.
I’ll keep thinking on the air guitar thing. 🙂
Loved the couple in the stripy pants on the trampoline!
In the “showing our age” category: Dream On (Aerosmith), and Jungleland (Bruce) for an air sax option!
I love Dream On by Areosmith – one of my favorite songs ever. One day, on a 30 minute drive to work, I listened to it on repeat for the whole time!
