Got the results of my cancer tumor marker blood test and although it has a 50% chance of being wrong (!), I am very happy to report that it came back normal, so am going to take it as right in this case. Better to be on the side of positive than negative I’d say.
And my hysteroscopy showed that I have two uterine polyps which are a side effect of taking tamoxifen. I had one last October but the biopsy came back benign and as these look to be from the same family, are very likely to be so, too. I’ll get the biopsy results in 3-4 days.
So a good day all round and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted as now I can focus on my surgery on July 10th. I also had my pre-op appointment this morning which is just a load of questions in preparation for surgery. Between appts., I went to Nordstrom’s as I think I mentioned the mall is right next to the hospital. Another pair of shoes are on their way to me and I also bought some button up, loose shirts/pjs for post surgery. I could’ve gone to Nordstrom’s Rack which is just down the road, but there is something just so wonderful about hanging in the changing room whilst a nice person delivers clothes to your door. I bought one shirt that has a camouflage print on it so look like something out of Duck Dynasty!
And Sarah is now firmly ensconced at the hairdressers for 3-4 hours of blue removal. We’ve agreed that she’ll go back to normal color on top with dark blue underneath to add contrast.
Sarah, Victoria and I are off to a very fancy B&B this weekend in Newport, RI for a girl’s trip before my surgery. We’re staying in a room from the 1850s with antiques and a canopy bed and I was wondering if blue haired children would be allowed, but hopefully she’ll look normal enough now that they’ll let us in! If anyone has some good suggestions on things to do whilst we’re there, please let me know. I am so happy that I can spend this time with my beautiful daughters unencumbered by bad news.
So thanks for all the best wishes – they worked wonders and look forward to seeing some of you Monday evening.
Love Amanda
Yay for a good news day! Newport is such a great place for walking around: cute shops, the water, mansion tours, etc. Relax and have fun!
so good to hear your GOOD NEWS, Amanda….thank goodness…now ENJOY your weekend AWAY!!! ( I must say I was admiring a barista’s hair yesterday that she had done in varying shades of blue, aqua, purple, and maybe even a little green. It was…seriously…beautiful! as I’m sure your Victoria’s is!! 😀 ) XX
