I am very happy to report that the pathology results show that the cancer has not spread beyond the one sentinel node. I know that this is very good news as it means the cancer hasn’t spread beyond the immediate area, but whether this means I’ll need chemo or not, I am still unsure. The test results had just come in when I called, so the oncology surgeon needs to speak to the medical oncologist (drug lady) and they will call me back early next week. Talk about a friggin’ roller coaster but so happy to be on the up side!
Also, check out this great you-tube video that my friend, Amanda sent me. Stuart Scott talks so eloquently about what is most important when you are going through cancer. The piece that resonates most strongly for me is that you need other people to hold you up and fight for you when you don’t have the energy for that day/time to fight for yourself. And that’s what you all do for me. Get your hankie out before you watch it.
Love to all,
Amanda
