If one can say such a thing so early on! I was there for four hours but this was longer than usual as they were giving me the skinny on the drugs, complications, implications and how to mitigate. The two drugs I am taking are through IV, the first one being Taxotere and the second Cytoxan. The first takes about an hour and the second one, thirty minutes. They also do a saline flush and gave me Benadryl through the IV, which made me nap on and off for most of the time. The nausea, if it comes, will start this evening. My friend, Lina gave me a fancy schmancy device that you put on your wrist and it sends little electrical pulses into your hand to prevent nausea, so have it all prepped and ready to go.
Feeling exhausted but that is more to do with the fact that you have to take steroids for three days whilst having the actual chemo which causes insomnia. I am sure the nerves played a part in it too and I spent a lot of the night playing Cover Orange, a game on my iPod, to which I believe I could become addicted!
Attached is a piccy of me having chemo – not very exciting but there you go!
Love Amanda
Glad all went well, Amanda! Need to get yourself a good book!
Great pic. You look very relaxed and quite well put together as always! One down! Hope tonight goes well and that you don’t need the electric shock therapy to keep your dinner down! Love to you. L.
Happy to hear the first time went well. Love and hugs, Chris
Was thinking of you as you were sitting there–many positive thoughts! Glad to hear it went well and am hoping last night was easy and you were able to sleep. Much love! C~
